New Year and New Opportunities for Firm Foundation

Happy New Year 2012 to you! We look forward to all God may have our school and our group in 2012!

This past Christmas, we had honor of being invited to sing a Christmas concert for the City of Titusville Citywide Tree Lighting at the City Hall. We also sang for Parrish Medical Center as well as for the Joyland Christmas program and the Primetimers Senior Adult program at Temple Baptist Church.

On Saturday, January 28, 2012, our group will be singing the opening patriotic music for the annual Astronaut Memorial Ceremony at the Sand Point Park in Titusville. This is held near the flagpole where a set of plaques remembering fallen astronauts is displayed. The Titusville Memorial and Flag Committee honor our astronauts through a ceremony featuring local city officals as well as special guests related to the space program. We are excited to share this opportunity with them once again!

In February we will be shooting a concert video of our Spring songs to send out in hopes of singing on some important field trips. Please pray for our group as we pursue these opportunities for major exposure of our school and ministry.

Welcome Back Students!

Hope your first few days of class at TCS are going well. We will have our first rehearsal on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 near the end of the school day in the music room. Anyone interested in joining the group this year may come to this rehearsal.

I have selected some new music for this year that you will enjoy adding to your FF favorites. Our new meeting time during school hours will allow bus riders to be part of the group this year. I am looking forward to auditioning new members as well as welcoming back our fine members from last year. This is going to be an exciting year for our group. TCS Firm Foundation is out for the Summer break, but big plans are underway for the Fall semester in August. Changes will be made in many aspects of the group for this next year. Firm Foundation will shine at the Lighthouse

TCS Firm Foundation is once again visiting a lighthouse. This year we are visiting the one in our own back yard. In early May we will be going on a field trip of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, early launch pads and facilities, and the Air Force Space and Missile Museum, as well as their new History Center. I took this picture today while planning the details of our trip. It's going to be a lot of fun! I can't wait to see all the sites of the early space program and sing at the Cape Canaveral lighthouse. What a great way to end another exciting year for Firm Foundation!

Also later this month, our group will be singing their Music Performance Evaluation at the Titusville Public Library. They are working hard to polish their performance skills to do their very best in front an experienced well seasoned adjudicator. This will show us what our group has learned this year and how we can improve for next year.

Here are the first pictures of Firm Foundation Fall 2010. Everyone loves the new color and logo on the uniforms. Thank you to all who assisted in our uniform makeover. Students are thrilled about new songs added this year and new motions to add to the songs. We are looking forward to all the places to share our songs and encourage people in the community.

Our first concert this fall is at Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehab Center. See our event calendar for more information. We are ready to share our songs and smiles with these wonderful residents. It's going to be an exciting year for our group!

New Year, New Names, New Places, New Uniforms!

What an exciting 2 weeks into the new school year at Temple Christian School! Many new students came to auditions last week, and there are many nice voices and personalities joining the group this year. We also have quite a few returning members to Firm Foundation. We had our first rehearsal as a new group this past week and everyone had a great time learning the motions to "Lean on Me" and all the words to our theme song.

Our new logo is ready to make our new shirts. We need to get everyone's shirt size so we can order the new uniforms and start singing this next month. Pray for this new group as we continue to grow and develop our talents for God!

Let's Begin Again!

Let's begin another exciting year at Temple Christian School! New students! New classrooms! New teachers!New administrator! With all that new stuff, it's time for a new look for Firm Foundation!

This is finally the year we will introduce a new uniform shirt for our group. Even as you read this article, Sir Walter is scanning our new logo and digitizing it for use on a uniform. Our uniform colors are changing too! As soon as the new design is completed, you will be able to see it on here. If there is enough interest from the students, we will introduce a t shirt with our logo full size on the front. Students could also put nicknames on the back above our motto verse. Please let me know if you are interested.

Try outs for new members will be on Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Try outs will begin @ 2 pm in the music room. Returning members that went to FACCS State Competition last spring will not need to try out. They may want to stand in the hallway and listen to the new students as they sing.

Our first rehearsal as a new group will be on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. All membership and uniform shirt fees need to be paid as soon as possible so we can order the new music, shirts, and supplies for the new school year. We cannot sing until we have our new shirts, so let's get excited and get busy singing God's praises this year at TCS!

Firm Foundation Finished Top 5 in FACCS State Competition

TCS Firm Foundation sang their hearts out for the judges at the FACCS Junior Fine Arts State Competition this past Thursday (May 13, 2010). They received many positive comments from the judges and finished in the top 5 Elementary Vocal Ensembles in the State of Florida. This picture is from our performance in the Vera Lee Rinker School of Music Recital Hall at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL.

It has been a great year for Firm Foundation and I look forward to what the Lord has in store for us as we look ahead to next school year!

We Have Conquered NASA, but FACCS is the Final Frontier!

Firm Foundation sang a patriotic concert of songs at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor's Complex for all the tourists and KSC employees last Friday. Many guests stopped and listened, and many others continued to listen on their way to the IMAX theater and the gift shop.

We rode the Space Shuttle Experience, met an astronuat, and saw a 3D IMAX movie about the Hubble telescope and the beautiful pictures of our universe captured by this colossal instrument of astronomy. It was a fun filled day of singing, playing on the playground, and learning about the fascinating universe God has made.

Now, it's time for FACCS . . . the final frontier! We will leave early in the morning for the Orlando Christian Prep school for the FACCS Junior Fine Arts District Festival. Entries that win first place here may go on to the State competition at Palm Beach Atlantic in West Palm Beach in May. All of our students are working diligently to do their best on Friday. Please pray that all will go well for our groups and contestants.

Kennedy Space Center in 3 Days! Yahoo!

I cannot believe we are going to the Space Center in just 3 days! I am so excited for our group and our fellow 4th, 5th, and 6th graders! We will havc a great time singing a Patriotic Concert as well as touring the space center! It's gonna be a blast! I hope you are excited!

We leave TCS at 7:30 AM, bring a sack lunch and your singing voice, and we will enjoy ourselves until 4pm then return to Earth. Live long and prosper, and let's Save Space!

TCS Spring Program & Joe's Club

Our elementary ensemble is putting the finishing touches on their Spring Tour lineup of songs, as well as preparing for the TCS Spring program on Monday, March 22, at 7pm. This year's program is "America, Land I Love" and is filled with exciting songs of our country and our flag. Firm Foundation will be featured throughout the elementary portion of the program.

On Wednesday, March 24, our group will be singing our spring songs at Joe's Club from 11:00 to 11:30 am. We always enjoy sharing our music with this fun-filled audience of residents. More exciting events to come so please stay tuned!

TCS Firm Foundation was invited by the Titusville Flag and Memorial Commitee and the City of Titusville to sing our patriotic music to honor fallen astronauts in the City of Titusville Astronaut Memorial Ceremony on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Sand Point Park. Mayor Jim Tulley expressed his appreciation for our music and conduct during a cold rainy morning. The keynote speaker was Mr. Scott Harris from Central Florida News 13. Fallen Astronauts from Apollo 1 (01/27/67), Space Shuttle Challenger (01/28/86), and Space Shuttle Columbia (02/01/03) were remembered for their ultimate sacrifice for the exploration of space.

Other guests included the Police and Fire Drum and Pipe Corp, as well as a flyover by Valiant Air Command near the end of the ceremony. Many notable people involved with the space program were in attendance.
Our group wishes to thank Mrs. Barbara McGillicuddy for her gracious invitation. We look forward to more exciting opportunities to serve our community in this way.

Christmas Concerts Are Coming Soon

Our group is one of many groups participating in a week of nightly Christmas concerts at the Historic LaGrange Church, just north of Dairy Road on Old Dixie Highway in north Titusville.
We will be singing on Friday evening along with the MelodyMaker Junior High Chorus. Special senior adult guests the Merry Melodies choir and the PrimeTimer Band will also present some beautiful Christmas music. Please make a point to check the December activity calendar below for all our exciting Christmas concerts. We look forward to singing for you soon!

Singing For Our Supper for Missions!

This past Friday, our ensemble had the privilege of singing at the Temple Baptist Church Missions International Banquet. The exciting evening opened with an exotic dinner of tasty treats from Germany, Spain, India, Indonesia, Middle East, Netherlands, the Virgin Islands, and the United States. This was followed by missionary presentations presented by the Brock family from Germany, and the Aenis family from the Middle East. Each family sang a song and shared more about the unique customs and food of their area. Firm Foundaion ended the evening with our newest song, "Love In Any Language" with heartfelt motions and beautiful blending of voices in song. On the Road Again . . .!

TCS Firm Foundation is on the road again for its 4th year, with lots of excitement as new members get involved in this musical adventure! The ensemble did a fantastic job at Benton House of Titusville this past week, and this is just the beginning. We will be taking God's music to plenty of unique places throughout the year.

Our next opportunity will be singing for the Missions Conference International Banquet at Temple Baptist Church, our parent ministry. We are also planning exciting Christmas performances, such as caroling at the historic LaGrange Church, one of the oldest churches in the area with beautiful traditional handmade decorations throughout the building and perfect acoutics for singing. This is going to be an exciting year to sing in Firm Foundation!

Fall Tours Begins With Benton House

This next month, TCS Firm Foundation will begin its Fall 2009 tour at Titusville's newest assisted senior living facility, Benton House. This is an exciting group of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders who are having fun developing their singing skills as they bring a smile to these senior adults. They are learning some new songs, as well as sharing many songs we all know and enjoy hearing so much.

We have had 2 enjoyable rehearsals this year. Please pray for these students that God will enpower them as they sing these songs. Some of them will be singing with the group for their first field trip. I can't wait to see all the opportunities God opens up for us to sing as we remain faithful to Him.

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year for TCS Firm Foundation! I believe this will be our most exciting year yet! This will be our 4th year of traveling and singing to people all around Brevard County representing our school. Our preseason tryouts last spring has shown a growing interest in our singing group. I am praying God will prepare our hearts and minds as we gather to sing His praises!

If you are new to the Firm Foundation group and our website, please allow me to show you around!
Right now you are reading the weekly article that I write about the group. This will be updated each week and contains valuable information for students and parents of our group on where we have been, how our concerts went, and when and where we will sing next. There is an activities and events calendar at the bottom of the site that will show you our concert dates. If you click on the descriptive lisiting, it will show you a map to get where we are singing, as well as any other information we can share with you about our concert event. Please check these articles and the event calendar regularly, so you will always know what is happening with our group.

Also, There is a photo link you can click on on the top right corner of the site that will show you all available pictures of our group's tour last spring. If you look further down the column, you will discover our full photo gallery that contains pictures from all the years of the group. I try to keep it updated as much as possible.

This year, we will be introducing a new uniform logo as well as a new Firm Foundation uniform color. as well as continuing the whte uniform and original logo with veteran members, we are introducing a blue uniform shirt with a brand new logo that will replace the new logo next year.
Shirts can be ordered for your student at the first Firm Foundation meeting of the school year for $20.00 each. Membership fees this year will be $25.00, and will help pay for parking fees for field trips, as well as allow us to buy new music and supplies for our group for the school year.

Check Out Our Logo!

A big thank you goes to Julie Newell, one of our Firm Foundation parents, for designing our new logo! Julie carefully developed the design on our chalkboard, then her daughter Vanessa assisted with its development on the computer.

This new logo will now be used on all uniform shirts for the group this next year, although veteran members may continue to wear the previous design for the next year. We may be also using this design for a new Firm Foundation T shirt for this next year!

Please visit our site over the summer as this fall's concert dates will be appearing as they are scheduled. Also, please visit our picture gallery again soon as we will be adding pictures from the FACCS competition. Many thanks once again to all who worked so hard to make the FACCS event go so smoothly for our groups. We could not have done it without you!

We have had some excellent Spring tryouts for next year's group, as well as retaining some fine singers from this past year, and I can't wait to see how God will use these students as they each stay faithful in serving Him this summer!

Excellent Adventure at FACCS Junior Fine Arts

TCS Firm Foundation elementary chorus received an Excellent rating at the FACCS Junior Fine Arts competition on Saturday. After taking advantager of the opportunity to hear the other music and drama groups from other schools, our students took to the stage and delivered one of their best performances of the year. I am very proud of all of them and look forward to working with many of them next year.

This year's season is over, but early tryouts for next year's Firm Foundation elementary ensemble will be next Wednesday, May 6, after school. Tryouts are open to all students entering grades 4 - 6 next year. If you're looking for a place to sing and work together as a team, then join us for an exciting year of fun and singing!

First Fox Lake, then Faith, then cometh FACCS

Here is a picture of our group at Fox Lake Park last month after singing at Joe's Club and 2 very special patients at Royal Oak Retirement Center. We are really enjoying ourselves in the great outdoors of God's creation.

Our group had a great time singing for the Lamplighters Senior Adult Bible Study at Faith Baptist Church last week. Each group member sang their best and enjoyed sharing with the senior adults. Their group meets monthly for Bible study and fellowship. They really made us feel welcome.

The next event for Firm Foundation is the FACCS Junior Fine Arts competition on Saturday, April 25, 2009. This year the competition will be held at Eastland Baptist Church in Orlando. They have a new facility, and we are looking forward to sharing 2 songs from our Spring tour with the judges there. Once our registration is complete, we will post a time for this event. The Junior High Chorus will also be competing with 1 chorus song and 2 small group songs. Unfortunately, not all of the Junior High Chorus is available to attend this event, but they will be well represented by those competing that day. Please keep this event in your prayers that our groups will be able to do their best in their performances and that God will keep us safe as we travel to Orando representing Temple Christian School.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day @ Joe's Club

We are honored to be able to celebrate the week of St. Patrick's Day at Joe's Club. Joe's Club is a licensed daycare facility that offers care and programs specifically tailored for older adults confronted with physical or cognitive challenges. They are always very friendly, and a fun place to sing a Spring Concert. Our students are working very hard to continue making this Spring concert one of our best ever! Please check our calendar for concert times.

Also, please notice other exciting dates coming up , such as the TCS Talent Show, where some of our group members will be performing. On Thursday, April 16, our TCS Fine Arts Spring Program will be presenting "The Spies Who Loved God" . On Friday, April 24, we will be participating in the FACCS Junior Fine Arts Regional Festivals competition for our elementary and junior high music groups.

We Made A Splash At Riverview!

We made quite a splash at Riverview Retirement Center today! The students did a great job with their new songs, and had a full sound, despite many fighting colds and sore throats. We had a resident who decided to join us in doing our motions for "Accentuate the Positve", and even tried to do the finger spelling on the chorus of "Obedience". We all had fun watching him join with us in singing together. Concert @ Riverview Retirement Center

Our group is anxious to share some new songs that they have been developing for the last couple of months. Tomorrow we will be singing them at the Riverview Retirement Center. Located on the South end of Titusville, this small, but friendly facility is always a lot of fun to visit! It's a new year, and our group has new challenges awaiting them. Our next singing opportunity is at the Titusville Towers on Wednesday, January 21. Please check the events calendar for details.

We will be adding a few of our new spring songs as well as singing some of our favorites from the fall. By the way, speaking of the fall,there are some pics in the gallery from our Christmas tour and our Christmas party if you would like to view them.

God gave us many exciting opportunities to sing in celebrating the birth of His Son. It's going to be a great year for our group as we trust Him to guide in His path as we sing for Him.

Firm Foundation Sings First Church Service at Faith!

Last night was a historic moment for TCS Firm Foundation ensemble. For the first time since the group was formed 3 years ago, we had the opportunity to sing during a worship service. Last year, the group was able to assist in the beginning of a new Senior Adult ministry at a church in Fort Pierce. Now we were able to sing as part a church's missions conference month.

It was exciting to sing for Pastor Coppock and the congregation. The students each did a great job singing, and we were warmly received by the church family. Many parents were there to hear their students for the first time as part of the group.

Unfortunately, all of us forgot our cameras, so no pic from the concert, but you can be sure we look for another opportunity to sing there again, so we can take care of that important detail. Thank you to Pastor Coppock, Bro. Mark Truett, and all who helped make this concert so much fun last night. God bless you!

Royal Oak Concert Brings New Members

Here are some pictures from our Firm Foundation fall Concert at Royal Oak Nursing and Rehab on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. The picture at the top features our group parents as well as some new members who joined the group recently. We sang to a group of about 20 residents who enjoyed the lively music of trusting in God and sharing his truth. We introduced 2 new songs in the Royal Oak concert that we will feature in our upcoming Missions Concert at Faith Baptist Church this next Wednesday evening, November 19, 2008. The Faith Baptist Concert will begin at 6:30 in the main auditorium of their church. Please check the calendar at the bottom of our site for details. If you click on a concert date on the calendar, you will see the address and a link to a map if you need one. We would love to have you join us as guests of Faith Baptist Church as they celebrate a their missions month.

New Dates for November!

Our ensemble has some new places to sing in the month of November, and dates are filling up for December. All of our concert dates are listed on the calendar below by date, time, event, and you can click on the event to pull up the address and a map to the concert location.

Our students are very excited about singing at Royal Oak Nursing and Rehab Center, as well as being part of the Missions Conference at Faith Baptist Church. One of our group members, Vanessa Newell, is a member of that church. We always enjoy getting involved with singing at other ministries in the area.

Please pray for our students as they prepare to sing in these places. We would not want to sing anywhere without the power of God's blessing on each student's life. Cool Concert at Cuyler for Seniors at Lunch!

TCS Firm Foundation sang their first fall concert at Cuyler Community Center for the Seniors at Lunch program! The students did a marvelous job of singing, signing, motions, and showing enthusiasm for the Lord. The seniors loved all the motion songs and even tried a few of them. The Head Start students also enjoyed the music and added some motions of their own as we sang. After the concert, our students joined the seniors for a wonderful nutrious meal prepared and delivered by Meals on Wheels. Everyone had a great time together, and we look forward to our next singing opportunity very soon.

Fall Concert at Cuyler Community Center

TCS Firm Foundation is excited to be the musical guest of the Seniors at Lunch program. We will sing our first Fall concert at the Cuyler Community Center in Mims on Wednesday, October 15, from 10:45 to 11:15 AM. We will then be joining them for a nutritious lunch provided by the Meals on Wheels program. Our ensemble is always excited to sing for events in our community.

Third Year Will Be A Charm!

Welcome to our home on the web! This is the third year for our Firm Foundation Elementary Ensemble. We are all excited about a new year of singing for the Lord as we represent TCS. As you look through the picture gallery, you can see that our group has had fun singing these past 2 years. Each year God has opened new doors and provided vibrant talented students who love to sing. I can hardly wait to get started!

Our Fall tryouts will be on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 in the new music room in the north hallway. We will begin right after school with tryouts, then have our first meeting of the new year. Any students who participated in the May 2008 tryouts do not need to try out again, but do need to attend the meeting following the tryouts. This is going to be one busy year of singing for our ensemble! To God be the glory!

The Facts about FACCS and the Ron Jon Tour

TCS Firm Foundation has had a great day of singing, shouting, and surfing across Central Florida. This morning we left the school at 8:20 heading for the FACCS Junior Fine Arts competition being held in Orlando. After hearing several fine perfomers, it was our turn to share our group's musical talents. Not only did they sing, they sang without any accompaniment, other than our opening pitches played on the piano by Kelcie Ferrell. Not only did they sing a capella, they sang their way to an Excellent rating and 2nd place in the District competetion out of 3 groups competing in their division. After enjoying some more fine sacred musical numbers, we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch. From the Bell, we surfed on over to Cocoa Beach in our beautiful white bus to Ron Jon's One of A Kind World's Largest Surf Shop to perform a Spring Break concert on friendship to all the friendly spring breakers that were there. After the show, the entire ensemble was presented with a commemorative plaque and each individual received a Ron Jon fun pack and 15% discount card. I received a beautiful beach towel and 20% discount card. We had a blast singing our friendship songs. Then it was time to head back to TCS. What an eventful day. Stay tuned. Spring is in the Air!

It's still a little chilly, but Spring is in the air! TCS Firm Foundation had the opportunity to sing at Vista Manor on Wednesday, February 13, to help them celebrate Valentine's Day. We all had a great time singing our friendship songs and old love songs with the residents. Our party afterward was a lot of fun and fellowship! Our next 2 big performances are in April. On Thursday, April 3, we will sing the Body Song as well as joining the other elementary students in singing about the body of Christ. Then, on April 25th, we will be competing at FACCS competition with our music. We are even now preparing ourselves for these exciting performances! I'm sure we will find some places to sing and share in the mean time, but those are our major events. Hope you are enjoying your Spring! Talk at ya later!

Just 6 days until our group honors our military veterans on the federal observance of Veteran's Day at the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Center. On Monday, November 12, 2007, at 11:30 AM, we will be presenting a patriotic program of music honoring our flag, our country, and our brave soldiers who have fought, and are presently fighting for our freedom across the world. We will arrive in the morning and appreciate the visitors center and all of its attractions. Following the program and lunch, we will tour the KSC facilities by bus, then arrive back at school around 2:45 PM.

Many veterans have served in key positions in our space program and brought us to the moon and back. Many sacrificed their lives so that others may reach for the stars. We want to take time to honor these brave men and women who have served our country!

What an amazing group of young people! Here we are at the end of a Firm foundation practice just before our big trip to Ft. Pierce to help begin a Senior Adults ministry at Riverview Baptist Church. Aren't we a happy crew! Hey, where's Ali?

Here we are singing at the new Prime Timers Senior Adult ministry in Fort Pierce. The group is singing, I am playing and singing, and Lisa Daniels is helping with the directing so we all sing the right words at the right time! The senior adults sang along with us and encouraged us with their uplifting comments. Everyone had a great time! Especially after we got to McDonald's for lunch! We'll sing for our Happy Meals!

Here we are singing at our own Prime Timers at TBC in Titusville, with Tom Porter asking our guys some questions like, "Do you slumber in your sleep?" We enjoyed singing for Temple Baptist Church PrimeTimers. They also helped us raise money for our school!

Hello singers!
Today's practice was pretty good - but just incase you missed it, here is some important info to remember...
>>You must memorize your verses. You are all doing a very good job with this already, but you have to get the verse in your head so you can look at the audience and they can hear you speak it.
>>Please Listen , night and day, to SIDE BY SIDE on your practice CD! If you are part 1, you should be listening to track # 8 . If you are part 2, you should be listening to track # 9. Mr. Wooley & I have some very fun ideas to choreograph (which means put movement to ) this song...BUT we can't do that until you know the song 99.9%!
>>Please LISTEN, day & night, to LOVE IN ANY LANGUAGE on your practice CD!! If you are part 1, you should be listening to track #12. If you are part 2, you should be listening to track #13. There a nice interpretation of the chorus in sign language you can learn...IF you have the song down 99.9%!! ( sound familiar?? :+))

Each of you is an important part of the body that makes up Firm Foundations, and I am very glad to be able to help direct you. Please remember to do your part by listening to and learning you music!

Well done, singers!! I am overflowing with joy at how wonderful you all were at our very first 2007 performance! You sang with power and you looked like you loved what you were doing! I think you have just paved the way for many more great things this year!! I can hardly wait to work with you all next week - Remember~ the best athletes in the world keep practicing even after they win every game/race. Try to be listening to your music at least once a day. Firm Foundation Makes History at Ft. Pierce!

Temple Christian School's Firm Foundation Elementary Ensemble had a unique opportunity to become an exciting piece of history at the Riverview Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, Florida. Our group had the privilege of being the first guest of the newly formed PrimeTimers Senior Adult ministry at their church. We were there for their first meeting. A strong nucleus was formed today among seniors at the church who want to reach out to others throughout their community. We sang some songs, shared some scriptures our group had memorized for every letter of the alphabet, and brightened their world with some blue carnations mentioned in our song, "Light Your World". It was an exciting day for our group as well, as this was our first concert of the year. Each student did a fantastic job representing our school through singing God's praises! It's going to be an exciting year for TCS Firm Foundation!

7 Days and Counting . . . Ft. Pierce Here We Come!

You did a fantastic job on our 2 busiest songs in Wednesday's rehearsal! I am so proud of all of you! This is going to be a great field trip next Thursday! Instead of leaving at 7 AM, we will be able to leave school right after roll is taken in your class by Mrs. Rockwell just a little after 8 AM. Please be at school when the doors open at 7:50 AM so we can get our equipment loaded and get on the road as soon as possible. We will be able to do a warm up at the church and run through all our songs in plenty of time before our concert. You are going to sound great!

In other exciting news, our shirts are being made as this is being written to you, and we should have them by Wedensday at the latest. You are are to wear your navy blue uniform slacks and skirts with your Firm Foundation uniform shirt for this field trip. If you haven't paid for your shirt or your membership fee, please get them turned in by this next Wednesday.

Our rehearsal next Wednesday will also go from 2:05 to 3:30 pm so we can make sure all the details of your songs are covered and all questions answered. Please come ready to sing and prepare your heart for a great concert on Thursday. Keep up the great work! See ya!

Today's rehearsal went VERY well! You guys are listening to your music and it shows. Keep up the good work. Remember ~ If you are part 1 only listen to "part 1" music, and the same for you who are in part 2. Don't worry too much about the Body song this week, because you will just get confused. Concentrate on the Alphabet song, Side by Side and any other songs new to you.

August News and Events

I hope you enjoyed our workshop today. Everyone present seemed to enjoy themselves. Thank you to Lisa Daniels for the delicious strawberries and trail mix! Thank you students for an exciting first rehearsal of the new school year.

Our next rehearsal will be on Wednesday, August 22, from 2:05 to 3:00 PM. I will have our summer music lineup completed by then and a practice CD in your hands so we can prepare to sing in September! More details to come so stay tuned!

Summer Music Workshop Update

Hope you are enjoying your last few weeks of summer break! Because of scheduling concerns with some of our team members, we are going to do our Summer Music Workshop on Friday, August 10. We will meet at 9 AM and go until 12 noon. This will still give us time to cover new vocal techniques, sharpen up our music reading skills, and get started on our new Fall Tour of music. I know we are going to have a great time getting to know our new members. Thank you for understanding our scheduling change. I am asking for God to use our group to represent TCS in some new and exciting places and attract more students to the most exciting school in North Brevard! See ya soon! Mr. Wooley

Summer Music Workshop

We are looking at the dates August 9 & 10 to meet for our Summer Music Workshop. The times are still to be determined. We will have fun learning new music for the Fall Tour as well as learning new vocal technigues through a DVD series called "Teaching Kids to Sing" by Chris and Carol Beatty.

The Beattys are vocal coaches that train professional voices for a living. There is much they can teach us about how to be better singers for the Lord. We will also review the basics of reading music so that we can learn our songs faster and more accurately.

The cost for the workshop is $20.00 and will assist us in purchasing music and materials for our group throughout the year. I look forward to seeing all of you again and hearing how God has blessed through the summer. Enjoy the sunshine as you serve the Son!
